I love to follow the Lesser store on instagram, they do a great job at mixing Scandinavian designers with Australian designers, in the most chic and minimal selection! @lesserstore on ig

YES! They are excellent at social media, and that store isn’t even in my city and I fantasise about going to Adelaide to visit the store. I have definitely been influenced by that store.

I visited Lesser Store recently and had the best time. The ladies are so welcoming and they really do have a great selection. House of Dagmar has become a new favourite of mine after trying on their denim in store!

I love this post. Thanks. I always read the clothing label for where it is made, this enamours me to brands such as Bassike and Vicktoria and Woods. I am excited to observe an increase in made in Australia for Lee Matthews, they are one of my favourites. I think they are having a strong season with more to come.

I loved this Zara! I attempted my own round up of Aussie brands I’m loving last year but it was so cool to hear from an actual Aussie and you had so many great ones on this list that I’m going to check out further!!

Thank you Sogole! Truthfully I was a bit nervous to do it myself as to know what to include or not, and expectations of what is worthy to be mentioned…! Eventually I landed on it being about brands that had the capacity to handle international (from what I can tell, like they may have a smattering of international stockists) and also to create wearable clothing. Let me know which ones you liked!!

No you nailed it!! I’m a huge fan of Posse and Esse and have been for some time but I’m excited to dive more into Lucy Folk and Beare Park after reading this!

I genuinely think Lucy Folk is so underrated and used to tell the NAP and Matchesfashion team that they need to get onto it — even before she started doing apparel!

Yes!!! Love this as I love supporting local. Viktoria and Woods & Anna Quan are some of my go-to faves that haven’t appeared on your list (yet).

Love the brand highlights - Such good ones! I had no idea Alemais was Australian based!

The first Aussie brand I discovered was Bassike…it’s what helped me understand how basics could have a really strong POV ❤️

I also love Albus Lumen and Venroy is fun for color and prints!

I’ve been hungry to read a breakdown of Aussie brands and this was perfection!! I love shopping these brands because their stuff feels unique for my American counterparts but also because (sometimes) the opposite seasons result in discounts on the items that I want most when I want them!

Great list Zara. As a Sydnesider, I am especially thrilled to see Esse Studios included on the list. I love their style and yes second that fringed skirt. Just waiting for a reason to buy it. Surprised Anna Quan and Bassike didn’t make the list.

I felt like they were both quite well known internationally as it was — but maybe not! This isn’t intended to be an exhaustive list; I definitely want to see Esse Studios get more attention overseas.

As an Aussie, I concur with this list! We’ve got some serious home-grown talent to rival the rest of the fashion world 🩵

Have been enjoying Oroton, PJohnson Femme, Esse Studios and bassike. A vote for Harris Tapper in the NZ inclusions too!

Definitely including Harris Tapper for NZ and P Johnson Femme for part 2. Good call on Oroton — there’s often pieces from them I’m coveting. Bassike is so well known about Australia but perhaps not so known overseas… I need a non-Australian to weigh in!
