Love this! Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow is such a great multifaceted read.

I’m going rogue here with a non-fiction book on friendship: Friendaholic by Elizabeth Day. It’s a memoir on the complexities on friendship and the authors almost relentless pursuit to collect rather than connect, blended with research, psychology, and social commentary. A thought provoking and reflective read.

Yes!!!! I enjoyed reading that and I felt like I could empathise a lot with it as I generally like to make friends. It really made me look back a lot on different friendships I had with new eyes. Great suggestion, it’s actually worth a re-read for me.

Agree, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is hands down my favourite.

Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine is such a beautiful read too. I also really enjoyed My Year of Rest and Relaxation, both have that dark comedy vibe I love.

And for a short story, The Most by Jessica Anthony is a standout!

Yes to this! I'm always looking for books that focus on friendship and career over romance. Jenny Colgan does an excellent job of balancing this, and although Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series tends to be a love it or hate it (I love it), Becky's relationship with her best friend Suze is always front and center.

I loved Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. Felt exactly the same about Didion and Babitz though - would make a great tv series … Bri Lee has a great Substack where I pick up tips on books too!

Yes love Bri Lee’s SS!!

I’ve seen so many of my friends share IG Stories of Didion and Babitz and I’ve had to warn them to not try to follow all the various names she mentions - no point.

A book I am recommending a LOT at the moment is Language of Limbs by Dylin Hardcastle. The friendships in this book are the most beautiful I think I’ve ever read. Friends as family ❤️

Loved this! Will have to grab a copy of The Wedding People. I probably would have passed it over without even glancing at the summary but it sounds like just what I need right now
